Creating Equity With sailfish!
Podium Racing’s partnership with sailfish wetsuits is ensuring all athletes have what they need to be successful at the highest level.
When we started Podium Racing, we had three main goals:
To develop a coaching company that approached training in a very different way
To provide training and racing opportunities for next generation athletes - including the acquisition of a supertri team
To create pathways to ensure all athletes had equal opportunities
Zuzana Michaličková, a 21 year old triathlete from Slovakia personifies what we envisioned through goal #2 and #3. Zuzana is a successful professional triathlete (ranked 43rd in the world, recently earning a bronze metal in the U23 European Championships). She has confidence, tenacity and a drive to succeed regardless of obstacles in her way.
Shortly after Podium Racing was announced as a supertri team for 2024, Suzanna reached out to express her desire to have a spot on the team. Although this was not in the cards for this year (the roster was already complete), through the ensuing conversations, we learned that Zuzana had been training and competing at the world level without a wetsuit. Believing strongly that equipment should not be a barrier to success, we reached out to our partners at sailfish and were able to award Zuzana with a new sailfish wetsuit.
In addition to the new wetsuit, Zuzana has been offered a spot on the Podium Racing Pro team and as a result will be eligible for support through our non-profit PCG Foundation. We are excited for Zuzana and look forward to following her progress for years to come!
Also, a BIG thanks to Sailfish. They are exactly the kind of strategic partner that Podium Racing seeks in brands.
